Clay Style:Stone Red Mud(Shi Hongni)(石红泥)
Shi Hongni, commonly found in the lower part of Yixing Nen Ni layer in Zhejiang, exhibits an antique purplish-red color. It has fine and dense clay texture. Ancient texts describe Shi Hongni as the "stone essence untouched by the wind, transforming into cinnabar when fired." As recorded in these ancient texts, Shi Hongni, when fired, displays shades of cinnabar red, cinnabar purple, and even cinnabar yellow, appearing vibrant without being garish.

Its notable feature is the strong granular texture on the surface. Due to the abundant iron elements in Shi Hongni, the clay becomes exceptionally hard and compact during the high-temperature firing process, with a subtly visible granular texture. It feels textured to the touch, resembling the sensation of iron. It is often referred to as the "iron pot" in Yixing purple clay teapots. Additionally, the predominant colors on the surface are cinnabar red or cinnabar purple, with some exhibiting cinnabar yellow, giving it a captivating and graceful appearance.

Using a Shi Hongni purple clay teapot to brew tea imparts a unique tea flavor. Due to the high density of Shi Hongni purple clay teapots, the tea fragrance is released quickly, and the aroma can spread far and wide. Furthermore, the rich iron ions within the Shi Hongni purple clay teapot continuously release under the stimulation of tea, improving the taste of the tea and benefiting one's health.
