- Ben Shan:
Ben Shan means Huanglong Mountain. With the continuous increase of market demand for purple sand, purple clay ore as a non-renewable resource is becoming increasingly rare. It is some non-products of purple clay minerals from Huanglong Mountain (mainly produced in Sichuan Tu, Hufu and other places that also belong to Dingshan) As an alternative mud, it began to be used in large quantities. Some people who own the mud from Huanglong Mountain called the purple clay mud produced by Huanglong Mountain the original purple sand, and Huanglong Mountain was also called "Benshan". The mining area where the mud is replaced is called the" Wai Shan"( outer mountain).
- Origin:
The geological structure of Dingshan Mountain in Yixing belongs to sedimentary rock, and various (species) of purple sand are also distributed in layers. The layers are not distinct, and the excessive part tends to be mixed with purple mud, red mud, and green mud of the mountain, which is difficult to distinguish. So it was named "tuan ni". Dingshan dialect does not distinguish between "tuan" and "duan", so mixed tuanni is more often written as "duan" mud". Scientifically speaking, all mixed purple sand mines can be called "duan ni", while Huanglongshan However, most of the Duan mud in this mountain is a mixture of Benshan green mud, red mud and purple mud, so it is called "Benshan Duan mud" by convention and specifically refers to the mixed ore source of Benshan green mud, red mud and purple mud.
- Feature:
- Most of them are symbiotic ores. Some are the symbiosis of green clay and purple clay, and some are symbiosis of green clay and red clay. Therefore, the particles and colors of Duan Ni's works are relatively rich.
- Ben Shan Duan Mud section have a strong texture, a double-pore structure, smooth air convection, excellent air permeability and adsorption, which is better than ordinary purple sand mud. After soaking for a long time, the color of the pot will become smoother, brighter and brighter, and it will turn blue in the white.
