红皮龙 (Red Skin Dragon) belongs to the category of purple clay fired to a reddish color. It is considered one of the best clay materials for making plain water clay. It is found in the quartz sandstone at the body of the dragon in Huanglong Mountain.
Compared to other purple clays, it has a relatively shallow distribution and exhibits a purplish-brown color in its raw form. The clay has a purple sandstone structure and exhibits good stability with minimal shrinkage during firing. The firing temperature ranges from 1170°C to 1190°C, resulting in a shift in appearance from reddish-brown to dark red.
Artworks made from this clay possess a gentle and elegant quality, making it easy to brew tea. With a little usage, the clay gradually develops a reddish, rustic charm that exudes a dignified and timeless demeanor, greatly loved by the masses.
