Fan Lijun is a craft art master, born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province, China, in 1971. After graduating from vocational school in 1991, he joined the Yixing Purple Clay Craft Factory to learn the art of teapot making under the guidance of Senior Craft Art Master Tan Yuewei. Under Tan's mentorship and careful nurturing, Fan became proficient in the production of handmade teapots and the preparation of clay materials. During this period, he also received meticulous guidance from renowned masters such as Lv Yaochen. With a rigorous approach to his craft and exceptional aptitude, Fan has diligently studied ceramics for over twenty years, drawing on the strengths of others.
His fully handcrafted teapots exhibit distinct, well-defined lines in both round and square forms. The lids fit tightly, combining strength and gentleness, presenting an antique, elegant, and robust aesthetic. His work embodies a blend of tradition and contemporary expression, showcasing a combination of classical gravitas and a touch of modern vibrancy.
Fan's works have been featured in numerous domestic and international publications, and he has received awards at national ceramic exhibitions and competitions. Many of his pieces have been collected by museums.
