Born in 1965 in Yixing, Jiangsu, Wu Zhenyu graduated from Jiangsu Light Industry School (now Wuxi Institute of Technology). He studied under the guidance of the experienced artist Tan Yaokun and the National People's Congress representative and Chinese Master Craftsman Tan Quanhai, receiving their authentic teachings. Throughout his nearly thirty years of artistic creation, he also received careful guidance from renowned masters He Daohong and Shi Xiaoma.

His representative works include "Rhythm of Angular Sound," "Imitation Antique Sunflower," "Eight-Petal Sunflower," and "Imitation Bronze Ancient Gui Jun." In his long-term involvement in the creation of purple clay teapots, he excels in carving and making ribbed patterns. His works blend the ancient and the modern, displaying strong artistic tension and profound cultural heritage. They inherit tradition, are rich in creativity, embody the qualities of calligraphy, painting, and stone inscriptions, and exhibit an elegant, lively, nimble, and flowing sensation that brings joy and relaxation to viewers. His works have been exhibited in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and other places, and have been treasured by collectors from all walks of life, often receiving awards. He is one of the outstanding representatives in the field of ribbed pattern teapots.
